Life Before Technology
In the olden days, people engaged in subsistence production, this means, they were producing goods for themselves and their family. Later they started interacting with one another because it is difficult for them to meet all their daily requirement. The system of exchanging goods for goods is by trade by barter. Later on, they convert to coweries as a means of exchanging goods and services and as a means of settling debts.
The first form of foreign trade in the olden days was the trans-sahara trade in which camels were used as a means of transportation but before then, our fore-fathers traveled from one place to another by trekking. In that time nothing like sandals and there were lots of suffering where people are turned to slaves, they are locked up in their hamlet and they are given small portion of meal each day in other to reduce their strength to run away, even their mouth were locked with key
In the olden days communication is not easy and fast if anything happens or problem occurs, their mode of communication were made possible through the use of talking drum, town crier, metal gong, e.t.c. Those people are the ones that will pass information from one place to another on foot or on horse back or by setting fire in bushes.
Our fore-fathers lived in caves before the advent of technology. Many children were killed by wild animals, because their caves are built beside a forest. Also there was nothing like school, church and mosque. Their life-styles were only based on farming and their only religion is worshipping idols.
In the olden days our fore- fathers wear animal skin and beads, while their king wears cow skin with horse tail, crown with beads to adorn themselves. The modus operandi for keeping records then, was to make marks on walls or stone or papyrus or wax tablets. The method of keeping financial records was to highly primitive.
Our fore-fathers used hoe and cutlass in the farm to do whatever work they have. Also before the advent of grinding machine our fore-fathers used grinding stone whenever they want to grind. There is nothing like iron pot, electric kettle, e.t.c. Our fore-fathers used clay or earthen pot to fetch and cook. While calabash is used for drinking, serving of food and ladle (used as spoon) for eating. Before the advent of soap, our fore-fathers used star herbs to wash their clothes. It is also used for bathing. Later, when technology introduce itself and things were made easy, fast and simple than the life before technology.
